Welcome to the Friends Catholic Episcopate of the Resurrection web site.
We warmly welcome you to the web-page of Friends Catholic Episcopate of the Resurrection. Please browse a while and come back often as this site is eternally under construction.
Friends Catholic Episcopate of the Resurrection is an independent catholic diocese in communion with Friends Catholic Communion. This episcopate is under the care and direction of the Most Reverend Tatiana Beckett. We desire to serve, teach and guide Christ's church, its clergy, laity, and members. We do so with love and compassion and without judgement.
In ministry, in service, and in love, we do not discriminate. We serve, teach, guide, and offer the sacraments regardless of race, gender, marital status, sexual orientation,............
We are catholic in our apostolic succession, tradition, teachings, and our practice of traditional sacraments. We are not "roman" catholic, but a different denomination. We consider ourselves pre-schismatic and welcome all traditions, such as western rite, celtic, orthodox.......
We offer the traditional sacraments:
-Baptism: We do both infant and adult baptism, please contact us for more information.
-Chrismation/Confirmation: A christian rite of initiation which comes after going through some classes on the basics of christianity, catholicism, and church history.
-Confession/Reconciliation: Before mass or make an appointment with a bishop or priest.
-Eucharist/Communion: All christians are welcomed at Christ's table, we presently have two ministies who can offer weekly mass, please check the directory.
-Unction/Annointing the Sick: Pastoral care is very important to this episcopate so please contact a local ministry for hospital or home visits.
-Matrimony/Holy Unions: You must contact a local ministry in advance so that preparations can be made. You may also be required to attend some counseling session(s) with a clergy member.
-Holy Orders: Preparation for the priesthood is done on an individual basis, one must first apply and be approved and be willing to be mentored through appropiate studies before ordination. This episcopate does not ask for pay for this training, but students are required to aquire their own study material, equipment, and be willing to travel to meet with bishop or appointed mentor.
We know that we are a small episcopate, if we don't have anyone in your area, please contact us anyway, we may be able to direct you to someone who can help you.
We are in communion with Friends Catholic Communion and in this covenant we make three promises:
-To teach the teachings of Christ
-To preserve apostolic succession and traditional sacraments
-To allow freedom in the Holy Spirit for authentic ministry and spirituality.
One of the purposes of this episcopate is to guide and train those preparing for holy orders and the priesthood. In this we do not offer employment or pay but an opportunity to those who are called to Christ's holy priesthood to train so that they may serve the Christ through outreach or starting their own home ministries. There is no charge for this training but students are responsible for requiring the appropiate study material, equipment, and to travel at some point to meet with the bishop or an appointed mentor. We also have a monastic order under the care of this episcopate called Missionaries of St. Benedict for those interested in leading a monastic lifestyle.
This is just a little discription of who we are and what we do. If you have any questions or are interested in more information, please contact us.
